On Friday, November 6th, the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety Advisory Group is holding a meeting to discuss recommendations to improve 911 and 311 responses at the Office of Unified Communications (OUC).
The purpose of the advisory group is to provide Councilmember Pinto’s office with informed, community‑grounded guidance on improving the District’s 311 application and its functionality. Composed of local technology experts who are also actively engaged in the District community, the group will offer practical insights, evaluate user experience challenges, and recommend innovative solutions to strengthen the app’s effectiveness as a public service tool. While the group will primarily advise the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety, it may periodically invite agency representatives to share operational perspectives or respond to proposed ideas. Ultimately, the advisory group aims to develop thoughtful, actionable recommendations that can be presented to the Office of Unified Communications for potential implementation.
