Ward 2 is a wonderfully diverse community. It is home to some of the oldest residential neighborhoods like Georgetown, home to Georgetown University, many small and locally owned retailers, restaurants, businesses, and one of the District’s major hospital centers. From Hillandale and Burleith to Logan Circle, Dupont Circle, and Sheridan-Kalorama, there are unique neighborhoods home to thousands of residents.
Ward 2 is also home to George Washington University, located in the Foggy Bottom and West End neighborhood. It encompasses much of the downtown area and includes Penn Quarter/Chinatown and parts of the Mount Vernon and Shaw neighborhoods. Ward 2 also extends into the busy 14th Street corridor.
Ward 2’s boundary includes the National Mall, the White House, and many other national monuments and museums (although those are federal lands). It is the place where many tourists and visitors spend the bulk of their time. It includes the Central Business District and the Federal Triangle, making it the Ward with the highest concentration of offices and jobs in the city.
Put simply, Ward 2 is home to a diverse group of residents, a welcoming destination for tourists and visitors, and an exciting place to live, work, and visit!
Whatever it may be that brings you to Ward 2, please know that we are excited to welcome you! We hope that you enjoy your time here and encourage you to reach out to our office if you need assistance.
