Councilmember Pinto's Secure DC public safety omnibus was signed into law

Councilmember Brooke Pinto introduced the Secure DC Omnibus, a historic public safety legislative package with over one hundred interventions that respond to calls from the community to address the unacceptable level of crime and violence undermining safety in the District.

The Secure DC Plan is a comprehensive package of bills and initiatives to take urgent and targeted action to address public safety.

Councilmember Pinto, Chairwoman of the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety, held a series of public roundtables on gun violence prevention in the District to bring the community and government agencies together to develop actionable solutions.

Councilmember Pinto introduced the RECOVERY Act, a blueprint for building a vibrant, resilient, and safe DC by incentivizing mixed-use development, fostering an equitable return to the office, and increasing public safety measures.
